Football Cake

Quick & Easy Football Cake

  • 1 round cake (I used 1 – 8″ chocolate cake, but you can substitute sizes of cake)
  • Chocolate Frosting
  • White frosting (could be vanilla, buttercream, cream cheese, etc. – whatever you like
  • Decorating tools – pastry bags, star tip and flat (or) leaf tip
  • Some sort of cake board

Cut about a 2″ strip out of the middle of the cake. I was a touch narrow in this picture & definitely not straight! Oh well – I know for next time.

Remove the middle section and form a football with the remaining ends. I held the two pieces together with a little frosting,

Now decorate! I used a brown fudge frosting on the cake topped with white buttercream laces and finished with a star tip piped boarder. Perfect for your  next tailgate!
